Portrait Photography

A beautiful portrait that shows a person in the most flattering way can be a very valuable thing and they are usually quite difficult to produce if the ingredients are not there from the outset. For me a great portrait demands perfect light, where there are no shadows, no blinding sunlight and not in front of a dustbin lorry!

I found the following definition of Portrait photography on Wikipidia, which I think best describes this art form.

"Portrait photography is about capturing images of an individual person or group of people that show the expression, personality, and mood of that person. The focus of the photograph is usually the person's face, however, the entire body and the background or context may be included."

My portrait sessions are usually outdoors, although a home with good natural light can also work well. Like most of my outdoor photo shoots, I like to walk with my clients in the countryside where we can find some complimentary backgrounds combined with natural light. We will chat and aim to be as relaxed as possible, so I can find a moment to combine all the necessary ingredients that make a great shot.

Get in touch with me today if you want to book your own portrait session that may even unlock the door to some new opportunities, as you share your best angle on social media with friends, family or even you next employer!
