Mayfair Library Wedding Venue

I was delighted to photograph Yuko and Stewart’s intimate Mayfair library wedding. The 120-year-old Mayfair Library has a great history and tradition of its own and is decorated to retain that connection to the library, shelves are filled with books donated by Marylebone library, alongside some old wedding photographs and some various glass trinkets to match the beautiful stained glass windows. It is no wonder Yuko and Stewart chose tying the knot in this iconic wedding venue.

I received an email from Yuko, 5 days before the wedding, letting me know that Stewart had twisted his back quite badly and was in hospital in Edinburgh…BUT! miracles do happen and Stewart was able to fly home on time for what was the most amazing day. The sun was shinning, the sky was blue, I arrived a little early for this Mayfair Library wedding photography to take in the calm and the beauty of one of London’s most desirable and exclusive areas, which is Mayfair.

I arrived at Yuko and Steward’s house to document the final touches in a non obtrusive way. I then followed Yuko and Stewart as well as the best man and the mother and father of the groom, as they were heading to the library, which was only around the corner. I made sure I captured the excitement, joy and anticipation of everyone as well as the stunning Mayfair surroundings. I loved photographing people’s reactions on the way there as they looked, smiled and cheered at the beautiful bridal party. We stopped in the beautiful gardens to take a few portraits as clouds were starting to form and wanted to make the most of the sunshine. Yuko and Stewart were so relaxed and well…in love! and when you are in love, it simply shows!

After the ceremony, Yuko and Stewart walked with their guests around the corner to The Greenhouse restaurant for the wedding breakfast. A quick change back in the house for Yuko and the lady in red and her new husband were now ready to relax and enjoy the most delicious cuisine with their dear family and friends.

Dear Stewart and Yuko, thank you for trusting me with your wedding day, I had a wonderful time and wish you many years of love and happiness…
