Thank you Becci and Pablo for trusting me with your The Manor Elstree Wedding Photography.

Becci and Pablo found the venue by chance – The Manor Elstree Wedding Photography. I quote “I was trying not to be a bridezilla (too early anyway!) so I was trying to give us a little while to enjoy being engaged before diving into planning. So when Pab suggested we start looking at venues only two weeks after we got engaged I ran to get the laptop!! We did a quick google search for local venues and the manor cake up advertising a wedding fair the next weekend. I went with my mum as Pab was playing football and we both fell in love with it immediately and provisionally booked it, along with a meeting the next week for me to bring Pab! The rest, as they say is history!”

I had loads of pictures in my head (thanks to hours of say yes to the dress!) My mum booked me an appointment at Dress in Love in Hertford, just for me to try on some styles and see what might suit me. I tried on lots of beautiful dresses, and raced through my appointment. Lindsey was brilliant and asked if there was anything else before we left. I’d pointed out a dress to me sister who wasn’t sure about the ruching on the top but it was the colour that caught my eye. Lindsey insisted I try it on and she said if you’re brave enough, I have the perfect veil to bring out the slight blush tone. I went with it and cried when I saw myself in the mirror. It was so me I couldn’t believe it existed. It was made exclusively for Lindsey’s boutique and when she told me no-one else has ever ordered it in that colour with the rose veil it became even more special and I never wanted to take it off. Sadly, Lindsey has closed down her boutique but as far as I know that means I will be the only bride to wear it. She was amazing and was at the end of the phone whenever I had a question, and Nadia the seamstress was lovely and delivered the dress and pressed it to perfection the day before the wedding.”

Francesca did a trial for me last August at the bridal boutique for me to see the complete look with the dress and it was spot on. She had really listened to what I asked for and considered the photos I brought with me.”

Now I really want to know about the cake (see blog picture!) as it was AMAZING! “Once the dress was sorted, the veil was so beautiful a theme almost developed around it and that was the inspiration for the cake. I saw a beautiful hand painted cake in Brides magazine by Nevie Pie and did a quick Pinterest search. The same baker came up over and over again – Nevie Pie cakes. I looked at the website and was blown away by the details and intricacy of the designs and over the moon to find out that Natasha was based in Berkahmsted – not too far! We set up a tasting and my mum and sister cake with me. I was very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and delish the cake was and Natasha produced a stunning sketch based on our conversation and a photo of my dress and the veil. I couldn’t have imagined just how stunning the final result would be. And on top of that, Natasha worked hard to incorporate some traditional Argentinian flavours using dulce de leche that Pablo’s family brought over for us and clever design work to include the traditional cake pull without detracting from the beauty of the cake! My only regret is that I didn’t remember to ask for more of the coffee and pecan later to be saved for me! No regrets over eating wedding cake for breakfast for the two days after the wedding though!”

The Manor Elstree Photography… How about the photographer???
“Finding a photographer was harder than I expected. I started off with the recommended supplier from the venue at the time, but wasn’t sold on the photos and after a few hours on google searches was still no closer. I took a break from google to check my Facebook and I had an advert for you! They must have used my google search history! I clicked the link, loved the style and story the photos told immediately and sent an email. You responded the same night and invited me meet you and chat over a glass of wine or coffee and I knew we’d get on great! Me and Pab came to meet you and he loved your portfolio as much as I did. The documentary style was perfect for us and we’re so last minute and disorganised that not needing a big list of must have traditional wedding photos was a bit of a relief! We love the sneak peaks of our day we’ve seen so far and we cannot wait to see the final edit and our album. You put us at ease on the day and were very subtle! Hope you had as much fun as we did!”

The Manor Elstree Wedding photography is so perfect for me as only 30 minutes drive to where I am based.
